Based on our research and buyer reviews — we have not tested this unit hands-on.
The sensible upgrade. DJI kept what worked on the Pocket 3 — 1-inch sensor, 20mm f/2.0 lens, rotating screen — and fixed the annoyances: 107 GB of storage is built in, the battery is rated for four hours of 1080p, and slow motion doubles to 4K/240fps. At ₱28,990 it is the Pocket to buy unless you specifically want the 4P’s telephoto lens.

- Same 20mm f/2.0 main camera as the Pocket 3 — image quality is an evolution, not a leap
- Slightly larger and 11 g heavier than the Pocket 3
- No telephoto camera; zoom is digital
- Not officially sold in the US, which affects some grey-import warranty situations
The Osmo Pocket 4 is the kind of sequel that is easy to underrate. On paper the headline camera hardware barely moves: still a 1-inch sensor, still a 20mm f/2.0 lens, still a 2-inch rotating touchscreen. Look at what changed around it, though, and it reads like DJI worked through the Pocket 3’s complaint list.
What actually changed
- Storage: 107 GB is built in. The Pocket 3 shipped with none, so a microSD card was mandatory.
- Battery: 1545 mAh, up about 20%, and DJI rates it for 240 minutes of 1080p/24 recording against 166 on the Pocket 3.
- Frame rates: slow motion doubles to 4K/240fps.
- Colour: a true 10-bit D-Log profile joins D-Log M, with DJI claiming 14 stops of dynamic range.
- Tracking and focus: ActiveTrack 7.0 and all-pixel phase-detect autofocus.
The trade-off is size: about 5 mm taller and 11 g heavier than the Pocket 3, mostly for the bigger battery. In a camera this small that is noticeable but hardly a problem.
Our take: for the majority of vloggers, travel creators and anyone shooting for TikTok, Reels or YouTube Shorts, this is the one. It costs less than the Pocket 3 did at launch, removes the two things people most often griped about, and keeps the image quality that made the line popular.
