How we review
Every product page has two clearly separated parts: what we think, and what buyers say.
Our verdict
A human on our team researches each product: the manufacturer’s specifications, reputable independent reviews, and how it compares with the alternatives at the same price. We then write a verdict, list what we like and don’t, and give a rating out of five.
We only say “we tested” when we have physically used the product. Otherwise the page says so plainly: the verdict is based on research and buyer reviews.
What buyers say
Shops like Shopee and Lazada hold thousands of reviews from people who actually bought the product. Reading them all is impractical, so we summarise them. An editor collects reviews, an AI model groups them into recurring praise, complaints and red flags, and an editor checks the summary before it is published.
We never republish buyers’ reviews word for word and we never store them. What you see is a paraphrased summary, labelled as such, shown in a blue panel so it is never confused with our own opinion.
Ratings
The star rating on a product page is ours alone. We do not copy shop star ratings — those belong to the shops and reflect their buyers, not our assessment.
Corrections
Specifications and prices change. If you spot something wrong, tell us via the contact page and we will fix it.
